Hardeep Puri's transition from diplomacy to politics marked a new chapter in his career. His decision to enter the political arena stemmed from a desire to directly contribute to India's development. As the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at transforming India's cities into more livable, sustainable, and efficient spaces. Key programs like the Smart Cities Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) – Urban are central to his vision. These initiatives are designed to address the challenges of rapid urbanization, including housing shortages, inadequate infrastructure, and environmental degradation. For instance, the Smart Cities Mission aims to integrate technology and data-driven solutions to improve urban services and quality of life.
